It’s the season of the year again – the school holiday!
Some kids may be complaining about being bored as they are stuck at home all day and night, while parents may be struggling to find something for their children to do. We know how tough it is for both sides – so why don’t take your kids for one or two day-out during the holiday? Our country has so many vibrant sights to see and fun things to do – from aquariums, theme parks, learning centres, and animal farms to zoos. Hesitate no more! Here are some kid-friendly places for you and your family to have a great time.
It is a wonderful and fun-filled place for kids to learn science in a new way. The centre is organized into 11 main interactive showcases with a straightforward museum-style layout. There’s a ride called Dark Ride, which is an oil drop shape that will take you through the tranquil rainforests of Malaysia. Dark Ride brings your up to the mountains and down into the sea to show you Malaysia’s transformation and its advancement into the new millennium. The centre is perfect for countless hours of studying and having fun. The centre is located on the fourth floor of PETRONAS Twin Towers, which is in the heart of the city too!
There are two separate sections at the farm: The Natureland and The Cocoon. The Natureland is a living garden vivarium with up to 60 species of butterflies and more than 200 species of plants while the Cocoon is a two-floor indoor discovery centre. There are many learning exhibitions and indoor activities that children can join. Here, your little one can take part in releasing newly-emerged butterflies, joining a fun-filled guided tour and discovering the interesting lives of our amazing animal friends!
There are many more attractions around the country that are suitable for families with kids! Do discuss with your little ones to decide which attraction to visit. Make sure you check the weather forecast and the operating hours before visiting! Operating hours may differ due to the unpredictable weather in Malaysia. Be sure to practice good hygiene, and social distancing and adhere to the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) set by the Ministry of Health (MOH). Wear a face mask and wash your hands often!
